Hi, I am John Carroll and I am currently working toward my PhD in Oceanography at the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, Stony Brook University. I work primarily in benthic ecology, and I work with, you guessed it, bay scallops. I use them as model organisms to understand how changing seagrass patch dynamics, introduced species, and predation impact benthos that form close associations with habitat. Additionally, I like to SCUBA, tend to get sea sick if its too rough, and wish I could be a pirate.
Enjoy!
